I have read some very interesting and informative books on early childhood development, education and parenting over that past few years (and some not so helpful). One of the more interesting and entertaining books was “Brain Rules for Babies” by John Medina. Dr. John Medina is a developmental molecular biologist focused on the genes involved in human brain development and the genetics of psychiatric disorders. As the father of two boys, he has an interest in how the brain sciences might influence the way we teach our children. If you have time I recommend this book. To get a quicker glimpse of the ideas presented in the book you can visit his web site, which I have included below.
